Amigo is a 7 year old 15hh Quarter Horse/Paint gelding, born in August of 2002 in New Hampshire. He has a unique colour that has been described as overo buckskin dun, and he has two beautiful blue eyes. He's a sweet little boy with loads of personality!
I can't believe it, but I actually found Amigo online--on craigslist! But I saw that face and I knew I had to go check him out. He came from a farm in NH that does Trail Rides and also Summer Camps for kids. He was green broke and had been doing well on the few trails he had ridden there, and did great working with the kids too. He had been working with Parelli natural horsemanship. Once I arranged to go take a look at him and took him for a 'test drive' I knew I just had to have him. About a week later I stood in my yard anxiously awaiting his arrival. Amigo is the first horse that I officially picked out and paid for myself. My previous horses were bought when I was a child, and although I loved them Very much, there is something extra special about finding your own dream horse! Since he arrived, Amigo has been spoiled spoiled spoiled. But he deserves it because he is such an easy going and willing horse~
I plan to continue working with Amigo and hopefully strengthen our bond in the process. We ride Western, and I will mostly use him for riding the nearby trails. With lots of groundwork and some more miles under saddle, I know Amigo can grow to be my perfect riding companion. Eventually, my goal will be to teach him how to neck rein.
